Elite and Local Teams

We have structured our program around what the parent can give back. Travel basketball programs can be demanding but so can work schedules. We work in the background to create teams that compete both locally and travel exposure types of events.

Real work was done in the gym. Thank you again to Real work was done in the gym.

Thank you again to the athletes, families, coaches, and the Dan Mooney Foundation for being part of the Ares Basketball Showcase Tryout.

We saw players compete.
We saw players respond to coaching.
We saw players separate themselves.
That’s what this is about.

This week, invites will continue going out as we finalize our next group. A small number of spots are still available for players who want to be part of a serious summer built around development, competition, and exposure.

And for some players, the process already created momentum — with college campus visit opportunities coming out of the event.

If you want to be considered, now is the time to reach out.

Yesterday’s Ares Basketball Showcase Tryout brough Yesterday’s Ares Basketball Showcase Tryout brought together a strong group of players ready to compete, learn, and earn an opportunity.

Thank you to every athlete who showed up and put their game on display. Thank you to the families who made the trip. And a big thank you to the @dan_mooney_foundation for helping create a real platform for player development and exposure.

This wasn’t about hype. It was about work, coachability, feel for the game, and who is ready for the next level.

A few players even left the event with college campus visit opportunities - a reminder that the right environment can create real momentum.

Invites begin going out this week.

We also still have limited spots available for serious players looking for a competitive, exposure-driven summer.

If you missed tryouts but believe you’re a fit, send us a DM now.

From player to coach. Welcome back, Declan. Coach From player to coach. Welcome back, Declan.

Coach Declan joins the Ares Basketball staff from Oakdale, CA after previously spending 2 years in our High School program as a player and later helping with our Middle School athletes as the head coach.

A native of the East Bay, Declan played basketball for 10 years, has 3 years of coaching experience, and is also a track athlete at Modesto Junior College. Most importantly, he knows this program from the inside and understands the culture, standards, and work it takes to help young players grow.

We’re excited to have him back on the Ares side of things this season.

Parents can reach out to him directly on Instagram with any questions: @declan.hyness
